About the Author

Mike has worked in Law Enforcement 22 years in Southern California. His assignments include managing 3 teams of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, Corrections, Risk Management, Field Operations and Special Investigations Divisions. Mike currently oversees operations at one of the largest airports in Southern California.

Prior to working in law enforcement, Mike served in the US Army. He was a Military Police Investigator  stationed in Europe. In addition to his regular assignment working with US Customs, Mike was selected to work a long term undercover narcotics assignment working with both the German Police and Military Police Command.

Mike has a MA in Negotiation and Conflict Management and a BA in Criminal Justice. He was also privileged to attend graduate school at both USC and Harvard. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, a Drug Recognition Expert  and a trained mediator.

Aside from his law enforcement career, Mike is an Associate Instructor at Rancho Santiago Community College. Since 1998 he has worked with the college teaching over 300 hours on subjects that include Use of Force, Legal Updates and Civil Liabilities, Transition to Supervisor, Teaching Skills Development and the list goes on.
